Title
Pnit
Description
“Pnit” is a 3D installation drawing inspiration from Providence’s rich history in the textile industry. It takes the form of a macro scale section of a knit textile swatch. During the day, its intricate swooping pattern will pop out against the concrete slab background of the parking garage, offering a soft and playful contrast to the surrounding stone buildings. Pedestrians and cars will be able to experience it from many different angles as they come down Washington St. At night, programmed internal LEDs will transform the piece into a dynamic tapestry of light. As the colors change throughout the form, new patterns will continuously emerge, encouraging people to revisit it throughout the summer to see its many different states.
